We have successfully set up DSpace, an open-source digital repository system, on a cloud-based platform to create a secure, scalable, and easy-to-access institutional repository.

The main goal of this project was to digitally store and showcase the institute’s academic and research work — including theses, dissertations, faculty publications, and other scholarly materials. The DSpace system was hosted on a high-performance cloud server with data backup and redundancy to ensure smooth access and long-term preservation.

We also customized the repository with the institute’s branding, configured metadata standards (Dublin Core), and added secure access controls. Using a cloud setup helped reduce infrastructure costs, made maintenance easier, and allowed users to access the repository anytime and from anywhere.

Today, VIPS has a centralized digital platform that improves the visibility of academic content, supports open access, and strengthens the overall research environment. This project shows how educational institutions can use open-source tools and cloud technology to modernize their digital systems and promote academic excellence.
