We have moved all the book information and item records from the LibSys system to the Koha library system. The LibSys system would not let us take out all the information we needed. So we made a program to get all the information out. When we got all the information we made it clean and nice. We put it in Excel so it was easy to understand. We made sure each part of the information was in the place so it would work with the Koha system. Then we used a tool to put all the information into the Koha system.
This way we made sure all the book records were moved to the system without losing anything. Now the library uses the Koha system, which’s free and easy to use. It helps people find books and makes reports. It is better for everyone who uses the library. We do not have to buy programs anymore and the library is in charge of its own information. This project shows that we can move from the LibSys system to the Koha system in an easy way by being smart, about how we handle the information and using free tools.
